2008 Talent ShowcaseSponsored by the Brookings Arts Council, auditions for the 5th Annual Brookings Area Talent Showcase will be Sunday, March 16, and Monday, March 17, at 7:00 PM at the Community Cultural Center in Brookings, 524 4th St. The talent showcase is set for April 21 at the Performing Arts Center, on the SDSU campus. Musicians, songwriters, performers and poets high school age and older will be eligible to audition. All of those interested must show up either March 16 or 17, fill out an information sheet and perform their act -- no longer than 5 minutes in length -- that they will be performing at the actual event. AuditionsAuditions are being held to find out how many performers are available and in what styles and genres they are interested. The BAC hopes to include as many artists as possible in the performance. Repeat auditioners are welcome, but since we are helping new artists experience the Performing Arts Center stage, priority will be given to new talent. If selected, you must be present for a dress rehearsal on Sunday, April 20 at 7 p.m. at the PAC. A listing of those who have made it into the show will be posted at the Community Cultural Center on Tues., March 18 at 5 p.m. Audtioners will also be notified by email. The Brookings Arts Council (BAC) Talent Show Selection Committee reserves the right to accept or refuse any application. All decisions are final. The BAC also reserves the right to use photos of or works by the applicant for publicity purposes. TicketsTickets for the event will be sold at the door only and all proceeds from the event will go to help the BAC continue to serve the arts and artists and provide art education in the community.
