Community Cultural Plan

The purpose of the Brookings Community Cultural Plan is to increase awareness and provide opportunities for residents and visitors to experience the cultural attractions and events of Brookings. Enhanced cooperation, coordination and communication amongst cultural presenters and producers are key to success.

The goals, objectives and strategies in the plan embrace these concepts:

• Promote the rich botanical and agricultural significance of the region.
• Increase diversity and accessibility.
• Improve and enhance promotion of the arts.
• Create opportunities for youth to show their value in the community.
• Increase appreciation and awareness of the arts and education.
• Promote recognition of the rich botanical and agricultural resources of our region as contributory to the unique cultural aspects of our community.
• Advance collaboration between the community and South Dakota State University.
