Why Become a Member at the BAC?

As we prepare for another exciting year at the Brookings Arts Council, we wanted to take a moment to share some incredible accomplishments and invite you to continue to be a part of our vibrant community. The BAC  has had a busy, artful 2023 (with still more to come!). We are proud to give you a glimpse into some of our accomplishments this last year: These accomplishments would not have happened without your financial support.

Classes, Exhibits, and Events: 

  • 150+ students have participated in our arts events

  • Over 65 classes/workshops hosted

  • 25+ students have received scholarships to our programming

  • 15 weekly average Advance clients have had a creative outlet through Art Factory 

  • 9 diverse fine art exhibits hosted

    • 4 collaborative calls for art

    • 5 solo professional artist shows

Public Art, Community, and Outreach: 

  • 1 new downtown mural commissioned and installed

  • 4 local clubs hosted at the BAC

  • Monthly free craft classes for Brookings Activity Center members

  • 5 multi-day art camps for teens 

  • 4 Free Community Art Days in collaboration with the South Dakota Art Museum

The BAC is making art accessible, inclusive, and fun in Brookings and we and you can all be excited about that!
