Talent Showcase Features 9 SDSU Acts!

The Brookings Arts Council has announced the lineup for its 4th Annual Brookings Area Talent Showcase. The event, featuring 14 premier area acts, will be held April 23, 2007, at the Performing Arts Center’s Larson Memorial Concert Hall on the SDSU campus. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. Proceeds from the event go to supporting future BAC Talent Showcases and opportunities for local professional artists.

Six out of the 14 acts will be performing original material. TV Productions’ Jay Vanduch and Ginger Thomson will be the show’s masters of ceremonies.

• Dakota Harem - Belly Dancing
• Allison DeJong - Vocals
• Elisabeth Hunstad - Original vocal/piano
• Karen Hogie - Orignal Poetry
• Mona Hendrickson and Ed Williams - Vocal with piano
• Kara Gutormson - Vocal
• Knaves with Knives (Mathias Turner, Jon Turner, Kyle Beck) - Original guitar and vocal
• Brookings to Broadway Teen Group - Tap Dance
• Melanie Koehlmoos - Vocals
• Kyle Knutson - Original blues guitar/vocal
• James Graham - Origanial Rap/Spoken Word
• Amy Osterberg, Vicki Schuster - Vocals
• Kayla Tingle - Vocals
• Micah Wetzel - Original vocal/guitar

The BAC Talent Showcase was started a few years ago to enable premier area artists access to the state-of-the art stage at the Performing Arts Center, especially those from smaller, underserved towns in Brookings County.
