Brookings Arts Council to Host New Exhibit by Jordan Thornton
The Brookings Arts Council is pleased to host artist Jordan Thornton’s exhibit entitled, “Came From Below. Thornton’s exhibit opens May 1 and will run through May 24. Jordan’s work explores the intersections between the intricacies of the natural world and her own experiences. Thornton uses printmaking, drawing, and other various media to bring this exhibit to life and showcase her work.
Thornton, a graduate from Montana State University, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and currently works as an Arts Specialist for the Sanford Arts Program at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls. As an Arts Specialist, Thornton, helps promote healing by stimulating minds through art orientated activities.
On May 2, Brookings and surrounding area community members are invited to Thornton’s “Meet the Artist” Reception from 4:30-6:30 p.m. This will include light refreshments, with an artist presentation at 5:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend and to meet this vibrant young artist!
The Brookings Arts Council is located directly south of the Children’s Museum in the historic Carnegie Library and is open Tuesday-Saturday from 12:00-5:00 p.m. There is no admission charge.
