Missed Class & Payment policies

Updated Missed Class Policy

The Brookings Arts Council enjoys providing high quality classes and experiences for adults, teens, and children. Each class requires a minimum number of students enrolled to ensure adequate accommodations, materials, and payment for the instructor.

As we make decisions regarding classes based on a variety of factors, including the number of students enrolled, we are generally unable to offer make-up classes, credits, or refunds for classes missed if notice is not given within 48 hours of the scheduled class start time. If you are unable to make it to a class and notify us more than 48 hours in advance, a refund will be sent to you. Credits for classes will not be held.

In the event of an instructor or BAC issued cancellation at any point after registration (including due to weather), a refund will be processed or the class will be rescheduled if possible.

Registration & Payment:

In order to best serve our community, if you would like to register for a class in person, over the phone, or via email and do not pay at the time of registration payment will be required at least 5 days in advance of the class or we will re-open your seat to the public or the class waitlist.

This policy most broadly applies to classes above $35, high demand classes, classes that require extra preparation or require expensive/pre-ordered supplies.

These classes include but are not limited to,

  • Stained glass workshops

  • Pottery wheel lessons

  • Floral arrangment

  • Pet portraiture classes
