Non-Discrimination Policy

The Brookings Arts Council does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

The Brookings Arts Council is an equal opportunity employer. We will not discriminate and will take measures to ensure against discrimination in employment, recruitment, advertisements for employment, compensation, termination, upgrading, promotions, and other conditions of employment against any employee or job applicant on the bases of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, veteran's status, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Harassment Clause
Harassment of any kind, including verbal, physical, or visual conduct will not be tolerated in the workplace, programs, or events of the Brookings Arts Council. In addition, any repeated actions, behaviors, or comments—whether or not tied to a protected category—that make staff, volunteers, or participants feel unsafe or uncomfortable may be considered harassment and will be will be taken seriously and responded to appropriately.

Personal Conduct Clause
The personal opinions, statements, or activities of employees, contractors, or volunteers made on their own time, including on personal social media accounts, are solely their own and do not represent or reflect the views, positions, or policies of the Brookings Arts Council. The BAC is not responsible for personal remarks or expressions made outside the scope of official BAC business.

Participation Statement
The Brookings Arts Council is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all. Participation in our programs and events is voluntary. If someone is not comfortable with the policies listed above, they may choose not to attend or participate. By engaging with BAC, participants agree to uphold these standards so that everyone can enjoy a positive experience.
